the appropriation beast
As a group project for uni, we had to explore a problem facing Indigenous communities and come up with an awareness campaign to help counteract the problem. The issue our group chose was appropriation of Indigenous culture throught the mass production of aboriginal cultural items.
The visual theme revolved around the juxtaposition of the appropriation beast (white man) and the traditional artists who create authentic items.
Shown here is the theme I designed for the project, the tshirt we wore for our presentations and the poster I designed to promote community awareness.
